Self-help

about

for solo flute and audio playback

Self-help is an interpretation of a cure for anxiety. The approach of this composition is to abstractly make a “calm” state for the audience or the listener from the composer’s point of view. The audio playback is made by manipulating the sounds of harmonic improvisations in electric guitar and the sounds of jack cable being hold with a thumb.
The recorded harmonic improvisations audio is duplicated into many tracks, stretched, and it pitch is also changed into higher or lower, to create the “Ambient” effect. The recorded jack cable audio is used for the graphic picture interpretation/improvisation part. The flute is choosen because the timbre is more suitable with the audio playback and especially for the approach itself.
